It is a matter of great honor and privilege to be the head of an emerging institution, which though in its infancy stage has carved its space among the best institutions of District Kupwara. Govt. Degree College Sogam is located in Sogam town of famous Lolab valley and stands permanently affiliated to the University of Kashmir, Srinagar and is recognized by UGC, New Delhi under 2(f) and 12(b). The college was sanctioned in 2007 and started functioning from May 2008. The new campus of the college started functioning from 2018 which is spread over 108 Kanals of land. The college has considerably developed qualitatively as well as quantitatively and at present offers various undergraduate courses in Arts and Science streams with varied choices. The college is growing within the challenges of future and looks forward to being an institution that makes valuable and meaningful contribution to society at large. The college has competent faculty with greater focus on academics and excellence. The college encourages all the students to take part in co/extra-curricular activities, so as to help them in exploring their creativity, talent, abilities and the inborn capacities. The College has a rich automated library under the continuous surveillance of CCTV cameras, with more than 12, 000 books, matching the best and highest standards of teaching and learning. Govt. Degree College Sogam is focused and determined to take up the challenges of the present times and to do everything possible to meet the demands of a progressive society. To create such a brighter image, the college has a website that documents various academic, curricular, co/extra-curricular activities, new developments and announcements and stands witness to the entire spectrum of activities with which the college is abuzz. Its continuous upgradation is prioritized for greater dissemination of information to wider public in general and students in particular.
