Department of Physics has been on the path of enhancing the esteem of this college right from the date of its inception way back in 2017. The passouts from this department are serving the society. The Department has spacious and well equipped laboratories, and modern apparatus. The primary vision of the department is to excel in teaching and to train, motivate and enthuse undergraduate students in theoretical and experimental skills so as to prepare them for the pursuit of higher education, as well as for employment. The Department offers BG Courses in Physics and is affiliated to the University of Kashmir, Srinagar. The Department has grown enormously in terms of infrastructure, and attained self-sufficiency in terms of facilities required in the labs for conducting the lab course smoothly. In addition to the normal funding given by the Govt. of J&K, the UGC as well has provided sufficient funds for purchase of books, laboratory apparatus and other equipment.
Presently, the Department housed in the Main Block on the first floor consists of one fully equipped laboratory, one staff room for teaching faculty, one room for the laboratory assistants, one dark room and one store room.
